CSN Group and CSN Mineração release Integrated Reports

The CSN Group released the 2021 Integrated Report, which brings together the financial and ESG actions and results of the five operating segments: steel, mining, cement, logistics, and energy. CSN Mineração’s Integrated Report for 2021 was also released.
“The Reports were created to communicate to our stakeholders concisely and transparently the Company’s perspectives in the search for value creation in the short, medium, and long term. It is a relevant document from which all stakeholders can extract the essence of the ESG performance and performance of CSN Group companies”, says Helena Guerra, Sustainability Director at CSN.
Check out the highlights of the CSN Group:
- Growth of 59% in the CSN Group’s net revenue for the year de 2022;
- Lowest accident frequency rate (CAF+ SAF – own and third parties) in the last seven years;
- 21% increase in female participation among CSN Group employees;
- More than R$ 100 million was invested in social responsibility;
- 6 new investments by CSN Inova Ventures, two on the theme of green hydrogen;
- Adhesion to the MPP – Mission Possible Partnership, becoming a key member of the Net Zero Steel Initiative (NZSI);
- Reduction of 7% in the intensity of Co2 emissions in the production of Cement, referring to the year 2020;
- 20% reduction in water intensity for steel production;
- 81 thousand hectares of protected areas by the CSN Group.
For the Mining segment, the following results stand out:
- R$ 19 billion in net revenue (+41 %) and R$10.4 billion of adjusted EBTDA (+27%);
- ISO 14001 certification in Porto Tecar- RJ, achieving 100% of the Company certified in the Environmental Management System according to the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) standard with strategic partners focused on the development of initiatives related to decarbonization and digital transformation in mining;
- Reduction of 20% of new water abstraction per ton of ore produced and 87% of water recirculation in the Central Plant;
- Reduction of 7% in the intensity of GHG emissions per ton of ore produced, referring to the year 2020;
- ZERO fatalities in the year;
- Start of implementation of the autonomous truck system at Mina Casa de Pedra.
