Young children from Garoto Cidadão are elected to state stages at the 12th National Conference on the Rights of Children and Adolescents

At the end of 2022, the municipal stage of the National Conference on the Rights of Children and Adolescents was held, organized by the National Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CONANDA). With the theme “Human rights of children and adolescents in times of a pandemic”, the event aimed to discuss the guidelines related to children and adolescents. All Garoto Cidadão units participated in their respective cities.

The presence of children and adolescents in the debates strengthened the importance of the conferences for the participation of civil society and, mainly, of children in discussions on matters that concern them.

The participation of Garoto Cidadão students was a highlight at the conference, with active involvement in discussion groups, arguments in plenary sessions and brilliant artistic presentations. In total, 15 young people from Garoto Cidadão were selected as delegates to represent children and adolescents at the State Conference.

These spaces for collective debate, which involve the participation of civil society within government actions, are an effective way of guaranteeing priority in the actions that must be taken in favor of children and adolescents – and Fundação CSN is present in this!
