CSN Cimentos guarantees maintenance of Falcão Bauer’s Ecological Seal
May 28, 2025
CP III 32 RS and CP III 40 RS cements, produced by CSN Cimentos at its Vitória (ES) plant, retained the Falcão Bauer Green Seal for the second consecutive year. The seal reinforces the company’s commitment to quality and sustainability, ensuring that its products meet strict environmental and performance criteria.
During the process to maintain the seal, the unit underwent an audit that evaluated the entire production chain, covering everything from cement manufacturing processes to administrative and environmental controls. The seal is part of the Environmental Labeling program for products and services, following standards such as NBR ISO 14024, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, in addition to specific requirements of the certifying body. Classified as a Type I Label, it is a certification granted by an independent entity.
For Fernando Salina, CSN’s Decarbonization Manager, “this achievement reinforces the CSN Group’s commitment to quality, innovation, the environment, and sustainability. Our strategy is focused on developing products with less environmental impact, in line with the transition to a low-carbon economy.”
The sustainable nature of certified cements is directly linked to their production process, which prioritizes low CO2 emissions and environmental controls. This is possible thanks to the careful selection of active mineral components in their composition and the adoption of an energy management program aimed at controlling greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, in accordance with the Global Cement & Concrete Association methodology.
It is worth noting that the seal was first awarded in 2020, and its renewal reaffirms CSN Cimentos’ operational excellence and strengthens its commitment to decarbonization. The company continues to invest in practices that make its processes increasingly efficient and responsible, contributing to a more sustainable future in the construction sector.
