CSN Cimentos impacts more than 30,000 people through its Environmental Education Program

In 2024, CSN Cimentos promoted 385 activities through the PEA – Environmental Education Program. In total, more than 7,500 people were directly served, and more than 23,000 indirectly. In addition, through the program, more than 10,000 plant seedlings were donated, reaching a potential reduction of approximately 46,000 kilograms of CO2, reaffirming the company’s commitment to the decarbonization goal.

The PEA aims to inform the community about the environmental control measures adopted by the CSN group, as well as to promote environmental awareness and sensitivity among students, residents of areas close to operations, and company employees.

“The PEA reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability and engagement with internal and external stakeholders. By investing in environmental education and initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of preservation, the company strengthens its commitment to building a more sustainable future,” says Tatiana Nogueira, Social Responsibility Coordinator.

Teacher Juliana Dias, from Escola Municipal Aquino Carlos, located in the city of Prados (MG), commented on the impact on her students:

“The PEA in our school community is an important pedagogical, environmental, social, and cultural tool. It is work done with qualified professionals, in an organized and dynamic way that adds to and complements our curriculum. Especially in rural areas, a project like this is a ‘light’ for children who are usually immersed only in their own space”.

With positive results in 2024, the PEA has been a great ally of CSN Cimentos in increasingly promoting debates related to environmental issues, as well as making operations and processes sustainable. In addition, in 2025, the program has already started its activities, and so far, more than 1,600 people have been impacted.
