CSN is among the companies that invested the most in the sports incentive law in 2021

CSN was honored with the commendation of Sports Incentive from the Ministry of Citizenship during a Ceremony, in Brasilia. The event, held in early July 2022, awarded the five companies most invested in the Sports Incentive Law throughout 2021. This is the first edition of the award created to honor institutions and legal personalities that stood out in supporting sports projects through Sports Incentive Law.
According to the 2021 Management Report of the National Secretariat for Incentive and Promotion of Sport (Senife, in Portuguese) of the Ministry of Citizenship, 2,507 projects were presented over the past year, a 56% increase in the number of proposals compared to the 2020. Most of them were educational projects (1,186), followed by high-performance sports projects (823) and recreational projects (498). The amount raised exceeds the mark of R$ 477 million.
Among the projects presented, 1,456 are expected to be executed in the Southeast, 629 in the South, 360 in the Northeast, 246 in the Midwest, and 97 in the North (there are projects carried out in more than one region). Football, volleyball, basketball, judo, and athletics are the most frequent sports. The 669 projects implemented in 2021 benefited more than 520,000 people of all ages.
CSN was represented at the solemnity by the Institutional, Legal, and Communications, Luiz Paulo Barreto. He pointed out that the company has firm commitments to social and sports programs, believing it is about investing in a formative social path for youth through sport. Barreto highlighted the CSN Foundation’s work that has excelled in supporting art, sports, and citizenship for years.
