• CSN strengthens its commitment to sustainability with the purchase of the CEEE-G

    April 9, 2023

CSN, through its affiliate Companhia Florestal do Brasil S.A (CFB), won the auction bidding procedure, held in the form of Notice No. 01/2022, for the acquisition of shares representing 66.23% of the share capital of the State Electric Power Generation Generation Company – CEEE-G (total participation of the Government of the State of Rio Grande do Sul).

The acquisition of CEEE-G is aligned with CSN’s strategy of strengthening its Energy segment while advancing the search for self-sufficiency of electricity from renewable sources in order to withstand the growing demand for operations projected for the coming years and maintain control over the cost of an energy supply of great importance to the electro-intensive industry. In addition to self-sufficiency and cost control, CEEE-G will be an important platform for the development of new power generation projects, as well as consolidating important synergies with the acquisitions of The Sacre II and Santa Ana SHS and Breaking Chin HUH recently announced.

Current assets total 721.45 MW of installed capacity. The CEEE-G produces about 990 MW and, with minority interests and SPEs, reaches 1,270 MW. In addition, the Company now has approximately 2,000 MW of energy production.
