    August 14, 2024

The Volta Redonda Philharmonic Orchestra (OFVR), sponsored by CSN, will hold its third concert of the 2024 season on Tuesday, August 20. Entitled “Armorial,” the event will take place at the Maestro Franklin Carvalho Junior Theater at 8 p.m., conducted by maestro Nilton Soares. The performance will feature special guest appearances by renowned soloists Ana de Oliveira (violin) and Sérgio Raz (12-string guitar).

This concert will be entirely dedicated to armorial music, a movement that seeks to revive and promote the popular culture of Brazil’s Northeast region through music. The evening promises to be an exciting celebration of this unique style, reinforcing the importance of quality music that is accessible to all.

The concert is free, with tickets available at the link in the orchestra’s Instagram bio: @filarmonicavr. This is yet another example of CSN’s commitment to cultural dissemination in Volta Redonda and throughout the southern region of Rio de Janeiro.

The OFVR is an example of how culture can transform lives and communities. Many of the talented young people who make up the orchestra were trained in the Garoto Cidadão project, an initiative of the CSN Foundation that has been promoting social integration and cultural education for young people in Volta Redonda for over 22 years.

CSN celebrates the results of its investment in OFVR, highlighting the positive impact the orchestra has on the city. “We are proud to celebrate the success of OFVR, which not only expands cultural dissemination, but also offers professional opportunities for young musicians trained in the Garoto Cidadão project,” says André Leonardi, General Manager of the Fundação CSN.

OFVR is the result of a successful partnership between CSN, the CSN Foundation, the City of Volta Redonda, and conductor Nilton Soares. This joint effort has allowed the orchestra to establish itself as one of the largest and most prestigious in southern Rio de Janeiro state, providing citizens with access to high-level performances.
