Women transforming the industry: meet Beatriz
June 11, 2025
The “Women Transforming Industry” campaign highlights inspiring stories, such as that of Beatriz, Quality Coordinator at CSN Cimentos – Pedro Leopoldo plant, who began her journey at the company in 2004 as an intern in the co-processing laboratory. After that period, she worked for an outsourced company for a while and in 2006 she was hired as a laboratory technician. From that moment on, she has continued to train, learn, and grow within the company. For her, changing one’s mindset is not easy, but it is possible. “You have to take the first step: try. And that involves commitment and effort,” she says.
In all these years of experience and learning, Beatriz has also faced memorable moments, challenges, and choices that have contributed to her professional and personal growth. One of the great challenges of her career was working as the first female central panel operator, where she worked shifts and learned even more about the factory’s machines, processes, logic, remote operation, and other topics related to the routine of a cement factory.
For Beatriz, who took on the role of Coordinator in 2023, opportunities at CSN are open to everyone seeking professional growth. “Promoting an environment of diversity and inclusivity means respecting others, believing in and empowering innovation, creativity, results, and, above all, creating a more enriching and evolving human environment for everyone,” she emphasizes.
In recent years, the presence of women in the industry has grown significantly. At CSN, this progress is also evident, and by the end of this year, the Group will achieve its goal of having 28% of women occupying different positions.
Beatriz emphasizes that she sees the diversity process as a priority and value in the company, “I always tell people, especially women, that we have to believe in our potential, work with love, determination, and respect for people, because the reward will come, it may take time, but it will come!”
Beatriz’s story reflects the positive impact of female representation and reinforces CSN’s commitment to a more diverse and inclusive environment.
